Drew's teaching us all a thing or two about sharks!

Here is another fabulous example of the A-Z challenge from Drew. Drew has been doing a lot of reading in his free time about sharks so what better topic for his A-Z challenge. Drew has managed to find a shark-related word for every letter of the alphabet. I am so proud of how hard Drew has worked on this piece of learning. He has completed this distance learning task to such a high standard and I can tell how much effort he has put in. Go Drew!

Laura's amazing waffle making video

Check out this very cool video Laura has made with a little bit of help from her Dad. You can tell Laura has put in lots of thought and planning into her video before she even started filming. Laura has very clear instructions and has gone through all the steps for how to make waffles. I also love the little breaks she has used in between the steps. Mmmm, mmmm Yum!

Amazing ANZAC day Activities

Last week I gave Room 11 a choice of 6 different tasks all related to ANZAC day and learning more about why this day is so important to New Zealanders. I have been really impressed with the quality of their work and I want to share some of the best examples with you all. If you would like a closer look at the activities, check out the slide show below.

The first activity focused around listening to 'The last post' and thinking about how this piece of music made them feel. Here are Angel's thoughts.

"Hello Bloggers welcome back to my blog I am going to be showing you bloggers some work I have done today about Anzac day". We had 6 activities to do, here is my first activity. I am feeling happy that I have finished this work and also amazed. Here's my work.

"When I listen to the Last Post makes me feel sad because this is the remembrance of all the lives lost in the wars". "I think about the huge commitment that these armed forces made to protect our and other countries from invasion". "I think this is an important part of Anzac day because it is part of military tradition and signifies that the soldiers have gone to their final resting places".

Angel also went above and beyond with another ANZAC day activity and even designed her own brand new logo. She wrote "It centres around the poppies that grew around the graves of the fallen soldiers and how we remember them with imitation poppies, wreaths and other logo's"

Another task was to look at the role animals played during World War I and II. Below is what Rableen wrote about dogs during the war.

Rableen also made ANZAC cookies too. Here is her blog post about her baking

Hello everyone yesterday i made Anzac cookies but my mum got the recipe wrong so these are how they look like but they were yummy and hope you like them
